XXI Milano Unica: Clothing fabrics F/W 2016-17 (first part)
Last Thursday, September 10 ended the twenty-first edition of Milano Unica, an event dedicated to fabrics and trendy accessories for autumn-winter 2016-17.
I visited this fair and found a lot of information that can serve as support or inspiration for future clothing collections, so I decided to share it with you. In this post you can find the first part of the report with directions of color and appearance for the fall-winter 2016-17 season. The presentation is divided into four themes, let’s see the first two starting with the introduction reported in the “hall’s guide” catalogue:
“The organic and multi-material vitality”
Tactile explorations, three-dimensional effects and progressive metissage.
« The fabrics clothes are made of, are much more than basic material, they are starting point ideas, vectors of change, signs of civilization and technological progress, examples of history and tradition.
The very essence of a dress is tied to the material with which it has been tailored, and that gives consistency and form to it.
For the fall winter 2016/17 collection, textures come from the bond with the elements of nature, they dialogue with futuristic 3D softwares, receive aesthetic solicitations from cultural metissage of people and vital impulses from the world of play, meant as state of mind. Hence tissues that are tactile explorations going beyond the old fashioned limits of the “inspirational” and “aspirational” and that define atmospheres, rituals, actions distinctive of the present time.
The giddiness of the new coincide with the high quality of workmanship, as the outcome of skills and knowledge. »
