It is a fact that now more than ever we need to think of new income alternatives and even better if we think that the alternative could be an activity that is totally ours, where we can also enjoy it and at the same time benefit financially from it. The following video shows some of the uses of the design tool with practical examples that will help you get accustomed to the body symmetry and they will simplify your design creations while you practice with the different templates you’ll receive.
Can you identify with any of the following scenarios?
- You are passionate about fashion but you have never had the chance to train professionally in this area. However, you’ve decided to start your own business and launch your own fashion brand. The only problem is that you think you don’t have the required drawing skills or talent and when you’ve tried to learn to capture your designs on paper the result wasn’t what you expected.
- You are currently studying Fashion Design but you’re not the most enthusiastic person when it comes to illustrating your designs, perhaps due to your high levels of self-criticism when it comes to drawing. The fact is that when it comes to doing it and taking some sheets of paper to create your designs… your mind at times goes blank… Or on the best of cases, you start to draw but you feel that you take too long to draw the base figure (correct poses, draw the faces, the hairstyles, colouring in the skin), so as to then draw the designs over it. In the end you feel that you’ve wasted precious time and perhaps even your inspiration.
All of this is possibly affecting an essential aspect of the development of your project: Clearly communicate your ideas in the least amount of time possible.
Whatever your situation the good news is that this design tool was developed precisely to solve all of these problems, let’s take a look at the features of this product:
What will you achieve by using these templates?
- Facilitate your training in the creation of male fashion illustrations, using the silhouettes as a basis and creating your designs on top of them, be it directly with a digital device or over printed paper.
- Communicate your ideas to pattern designers, clothing manufacturers, design managers, clients, teachers, etc. with sketches of the designs be it with flat drawings or with clothing on a figure (male fashion drawings).
- Have more confidence and inspiration in the development of your flat designs and male fashion illustrations. Because you can draw all the details of the clothing based on the realistic human body, which will give your designs a more real appearance and will improve the understanding of the person looking at them.
- The male figure vector templates will help you be more agile when it comes to creating your designs on the computer, given that you will only need to draw the garments separately or full outfits over the silhouettes that have already been created, not having to worry about correction the body proportions, poses, facial details of the figures, something which actually takes a lot of time, trust me! This will allow you to spend more time on the other activities for your project.
- Working with the help of design programs such as Illustrator and Photoshop you can feel more secure in front of the screen because you know you’re working with professional templates. This can simplify your work and improve your design skills; practicing, modifying and personalising the silhouettes with your own style.
- Eliminating the fear of the ‘blank sheet of paper’, that is, that feeling of panic you might get when you are sitting in front of a blank page or computer screen just when you want to start designing. Perhaps you have a number of ideas in mind for a garment that you’d like to represent but at precisely that moment when you sit down to draw… nothing happens… Don’t worry! It’s happened to me too! I can assure you that the more you practice using the templates, the faster your anxiety of a ‘blank sheet of paper’ will disappear.
Why use this method of learning?
Perhaps you have already tried to create your own male figures using traditional techniques, but without achieving good results because you can’t adapt to the technique. Don’t worry, we don’t all learn using the same teaching methods. For some of us it’s much easier to learn to draw male figures by practicing directly over something that has already been created, this way you can get used to the proportions of the human body. This is likely due to us being more visual during our learning.
While other people feel more comfortable learning with a more technical and traditional method in regards to the construction of the fashion figure; I am referring to the traditional system based on the silhouette of 8/9 heads, the structural lines and the circles of rotation of the body joints:
Both systems are completely acceptable. In fact, I started learning with this traditional system. However, the day I practiced using a photograph of a model in a magazine as a reference, my training system changed radically, because I felt more freedom when it came to designing and with the movement of the hand. I also noticed that my training evolved much faster.
My advice is that you evaluate which system is better suited to your needs. What is important is that you are able to capture your ideas on paper so that you can communicate with your work team, finally meeting your objectives.
Before starting to create your collection:
– I suggest you start with quick sketches by hand without focusing on the details, so that you can gain more confidence with the proportions and the style you’d like to use in your designs. Once you have spent some time practicing you can pay more attention to the small details and colour combinations.
– If you know how to use computer design programs, I still recommend you start drawing some sketches by hand and with ink, because, as you know, with just one touch of a key on the computer you can eliminate the lines and start again, but drawing by hand and with ink isn’t the same, you need to focus more on your ideas so that you don’t make errors, this allows you to experiment and further strengthen your artistic, creative and drawing skills.
– There’s something else I would like to add which I think is very important: You shouldn’t expect to start your collection with an amazing design. It’s better to have several good ideas and developing those step by step. That’s how fashion collections are born, they start to have a harmonious sense about them based on several pieces and details between the designs.
– The good thing about these templates is that you can print them as many times as you like to practice until you become an expert. And don’t forget to use recycled paper.
If your intention is to roll up your sleeves and start preparing your design portfolio for production, feel the satisfaction in the knowledge that you will be making the most of your time and your creative ideas by practicing daily with the male fashion figure templates.
Why am I certain that this tool will adapt to your needs?
When I started working in the fashion sector (over 20 years ago), I would have loved to have had an instrument such as this one. Templates to create a professional fashion collection by drawing my designs directly over the sheet of paper or on the computer, without having to start from scratch and without having to worry about the silhouette of the body, the pose, the facial details, etc. This would have saved me a lot of time but above all, it would have allowed me to carry out better projects and perform better in my first jobs as a designer while I learnt how to create fashion figures.
This is why I decided to bring together all of my experience to construct this tool in a practical, simple and organised manner. Currently, my greatest professional satisfaction is being able to help people with their projects and facilitate life with useful instruments. Knowing that people like you are satisfied and proud of themselves with the results they’ve obtained, doesn’t have a price.
